​​​Visiting Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge is like stepping back in time. This area consists of several different habitats such as rainforest, wetlands and mangroves. This gorgeous jungle is located on the Caribbean sea close to the Panamanian border in the Limon province at the end of the Puerto Viejo (PV) area. If you are staying in PV, Punta Uva, Playa Cocles or any of the beaches in the Puerto Viejo de Telamanca area, this is a must visit. Night hikes in this remote area are very special and with the trained eye of not only a professional guide but a true local, you'll see a great variety of nocturnal animals amongst the thick foliage.
